do justice, love mercy, walk humbly
do justice, love mercy, walk humbly
We meet at 11 am Sunday mornings in our 100+ year old sanctuary underneath stained glass windows with pilgrims because the church was built by the Welsh. Our service is done in a semi-litugical style with old hymns and contemporary songs. Questions or thoughts can be shared and all are welcome. As we say in our
CALL TO WORSHIP
At Plymouth Bethesda Church, everyone is welcome. Regardless of your age, race, culture, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, your religious background, your disabilities, or your different abilities, you are welcome here. Whether you have money or not, whether you have a degree or not, whether you have a home or not, you are welcome here. Plymouth Bethesda Church is committed to being a loving community of faith, built on the foundation of the Good News of Jesus Christ. We pray you will experience healing love and the full welcome of Christ in the time you spend with us.
Every Monday night in our conference room we have discussions focused on the Sunday Sermon. This is where we try to work out together what our faith means and how we put it into practice. This is a judgement free zone for questions, doubts, ideas, struggles, joys, and for anyone who has been deconstructing their past church experiences.
For years now we have been serving our neighbors breakfast. We started by hosting everyone inside as honored guests in our home, but when Covid hit we moved to take out. We desire to see and treat all as equal as beautiful children of God bearing the image of God. Our breakfasts are beautifully prepared by many volunteers and we always welcome more volunteers. We serve between 70 to over 100 people every Sunday.
We can always use pancake mix, sausage, eggs, syrup, milk, coffee, fruit juices, muffins, plastic ware, and helping hands.
Throughout scripture we see the meals being the center of celebration of Christian Community.
Young people are important to us, but during COVID we did stop our children's classes and youth group. We hope to return to them this fall.
Our Black Friday sale takes place every year on Black Friday. Families that need some extra help are able to choose and buy toys and other items for their children 0-18 at greatly reduced prices. Our VP works all year collecting new toys to have for this event. This is a way for families in need to still have the dignity of buying holiday presents for their children. We have had gifts for close to 300 children. It is a wonderful joy filled event and we can always use volunteers.
The Morrow Warming Center is a low barrier or no barrier overnight shelter that is based on Harm Reduction. We are reaching people where they are at with few rules aimed at reducing negative consequences associated with drug use, mental illness, alcohol, PTSD and other traumas. We recognize that people experiencing homelessness are a highly traumatized population and need a place that meets them where they are at, provides safety and shelter and hopefully helps them come to the next step in improving their lives.
The people who use our center are our guests. People, who for many varied reasons, are in difficult circumstances and need a little help. We appreciate and invite everyone to participate. Please ask to join our facebook group for more info https://www.facebook.com/groups/430038701543837
